That picture of Ming is piquing my curiosity.

Grats on the modship Dragon, I failed to include that in my post last night.

Is that Iron Man poster a shoop?

Congrats on the modship, name looks better in the blue.

Is that Captain America's helmet in the picture?

Sir Ben Kingsly has super swag in that pic. I also love his voice in all the trailers. I would have preferred a traditional Mandarin but sheeeeet it's Ben Kingsly dawg!

RIO 2 Adds Kristin Chenoweth and Bruno Mars

There are still a few years left until Rio De Janeiro hosts the 2016 Summer Olympics, but audiences only have to wait until April 2014 to see the Brazilian paradise on the silver screen again. 20th Century Fox on Friday announced the full voice cast for their upcoming feature Rio 2, the sequel to the 2011 bird-centric animated film.

The cast for the family-friendly film will include Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jamie Foxx and wil.i.am reprising their roles as a few of Rio's feathered inhabitants. New to the cast will be Andy Garcia, Kristin Chenoweth and singer Bruno Mars, as well as NBC Today Show news anchor and South American native Natalie Morales.

Rio 2 will follow Blu (Eisenberg), a neurotic blue macaw, and Jewell (Hathaway), his free-spirited mate, as well as their three kids. The conflict of the film arises when Jewel expresses her desire to raise the chicks in the Amazon as "real birds" rather than in their current domesticated environment.

The film will be helmed by the original writer-director, Carlos Saldanha, and will incorporate into its narrative the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which is set to be hosted by Rio next year. Rio 2 will feature original music by Grammy winner Janelle Monae, who will also voice a character. It is set to be released on April 14, 2014.

Matthew Vaughn to Produce Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR

Matthew-Vaughn-Producer-Fantastic-Four-Dragonlord.jpg

Though Matthew Vaughn was previously set to direct the X-Men: First Class sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past only to step down and let Bryan Singer take the helm instead, it looks like he might be involved with another upcoming 20th Century Fox superhero property. Vaughn remains a producer on Days of Future Past, and now Fox creative consultant Mark Millar has revealed that Vaughn will also be producing Fox’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, which will be directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank. Today Millar took to Twitter to share some news about the Fantastic Four redo:

"Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news - Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot!"

This news was subsequently confirmed by Deadline, so it looks as though Vaughn will indeed have a hand in the new iteration of Fantastic Four. It’ll be interesting to see how involved Vaughn will be with the production, and seeing as this is only Trank’s second film, it should help to have someone experienced in big-budget comic-book fare onboard to help guide him along. The Fantastic Four is set to open on March 6, 2015.

Kodi Smit-McPhee Joins DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Kodi-Smit-McPhee-Dawn-Apes-Dragonlord.jpg

Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road, Let Me In) has been cast as a lead in Matt Reeves’ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. When the sequel added Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty) just a few days ago, it was reported that the plot would be set 15 years after Rise of the Planet of the Apes and involve “a group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco.” It's still unknown how Clarke and Smit-McPhee fit into the story, but they’re both solid additions. Also featuring the return of Andy Serkis in his phenomenal role of Caesar, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is due out May 23, 2014.

Deadline reports that Smit-McPhee will once again join a Reeves picture, this time in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The duo previously worked together in Reeves’ last directorial effort, Let Me In. Reeves recently stepped in to replace director Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) who left the picture citing creative differences.

Details on the plot are still being kept under wraps but we do know that Caesar is struggling to maintain dominance over his kingdom after a decade and a half since their intellectual awakening. Also, James Franco is not expected to return.

Smit-McPhee recently voiced the titular protagonist in the Oscar-nominated ParaNorman, and has a busy schedule ahead of him that includes A Birder’s Guide to Everything, The Congress, Romeo and Juliet, The Wilderness of James and The Young Ones.

Ben is a diva on the set. He insisted on wearing gold chains and a fur coat for that photo shoot. Oh and he loves Dubstep music.

New Image from CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2

We’ve seen a handful of images from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 that tease some great new food/animal hybrid creatures called “food-imals,” and now a new image from the film has been released online to announce that the first trailer will be unveiled on February 27th. A new image will apparently be released every day leading up to the trailer drop.

Though Phil Lord and Chris Miller are only producing the follow-up (they’ve been busy with 21 Jump Street and the Lego movie), the film looks to be in good hands with directors Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn (who worked on the first movie) and screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses).

The film features the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Andy Samberg, Will Forte, Neil Patrick Harris, and Terry Crews. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 opens on September 27th.

Two New Images from THE HANGOVER PART III

Warner Bros. has released a couple of new images from director Todd Phillips’ upcoming sequel The Hangover Part III. It’s hard to believe that the film comes out in just three months and we’ve yet to see so much as a teaser trailer. For now, take a gander at these new images which feature The Wolf Pack together again and an ominous shot of Ken Jeong’s Leslie Chow.

The film also stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha, John Goodman, Jamie Chung, Mike Epps, Mike Tyson, Jeffrey Tambor and Melissa McCarthy. The Hangover Part III opens on May 24th.

First Theatrical Trailer for Antonio Campos’ SIMON KILLER

Simon-Killer-Dragonlord.jpg

IFC Films has debuted the first theatrical trailer for director Antonio Campos’ (After School) erotic drama Simon Killer. The film stars Brady Corbet (Melancholia) as a college graduate who travels to Paris after a bad breakup, where he begins an affair with an exotic prostitute that leads to dire consequences. The trailer is surprisingly fun and hypnotic, and it does a good job of showcasing Campos’ distinct visual style and the seemingly engrossing story. The film also stars Mati Diop, Michael Abiteboul, and Constance Rousseau. Simon Killer opens on April 5th.

Synopsis: The follow-up to Antonio Campos’ critically acclaimed AFTERSCHOOL, SIMON KILLER is an erotic and and psychological portrait of Simon (Brady Corbet, MELANCHOLIA, MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE), a well-educated, handsome and seemingly sympathetic college graduate with just a hint of something off-putting enough to ignite a sense of concern. Recently heartbroken, Simon travels to Paris to clear his head. After several days of wandering aimlessly, Simon finds himself drawn into a sex parlor and has a sexual encounter with an exotic prostitute, Victoria (Mati Diop, 35 SHOTS OF RUM). The chemistry builds between the two until they find themselves in a serious relationship, one that leads to blackmail, betrayal and the ultimate revelation of Simon’s true nature.

JACK REACHER Sequel Possibly in the Works at Paramount

Jack-Reacher-Tom-Cruise-1-Dragonlord-1.jpg

Back in January, it was reported that a sequel to writer/director Christopher McQuarrie’s Jack Reacher was looking unlikely. That was also about $50 million ago. Now that the film has crossed $200 million worldwide, Paramount and Skydance are reportedly in the process of building the scaffolding for another installment.

The previously cited box office target was $250 million, but when you’ve got a proven draw in Tom Cruise (Jack Reacher marks his 19th film to hit that total), it makes those dice easier to roll. Now that the (anti) hero has been introduced to a wider audience than only those familiar with the Lee Child novels, Deadline reports that the studios are at least running the numbers on the potential franchise.

New RIDDICK Image Shows Vin Diesel Sitting on His Iron Throne

Ever rewarding his fans, Vin Diesel (The Fast and the Furious) has debuted yet another image from his upcoming film Riddick. It looks like Riddick may thrown in his lot for the rule of Westeros, because that seat looks every bit as uncomfortable as the Iron Throne. The third installment from director David Twohy features the return of the titular anti-hero, who must fight for his survival against deadly alien predators and bounty hunters with a personal stake in bringing him down. Riddick, also starring Karl Urban, debuts on September 6th.

Diesel posted this caption with the image: "September 6th 2013! It has been 9 years since the Chronicles of Riddick was released… all along I knew I would eventually have to return to that dark place, the mind of an Alpha Furyan…"
