MMA will never have A-Level athletes

There have been great (A level or whatever the fuck that means...) in the UFC and MMA. If/When the MMA pay scales go up, there will be more. In the meantime, we'll just have to be content with Olympic wrestlers, Judokas, Kick boxing champions and C-level athletes with high fight IQ that stray into MMA because they just can't make it in the real world. *sigh*

Marcus Jones was A-level, but old when he got there. The other guys in the football conversation were D-level for football. Brock probably was more B-level and experience hurt him. Don't know who Morton was.

Westbrook was a 1000+ yard receiver with several years of training yet lost to a super green JUCO basketball Travis Brown.

People keep talking about boxing numbers but that’s only a handful of guys. Most make dogshit. And look at how many top guys got robbed by promoters...Tyson, Bowe, Holyfield, and tons more. MMA has a huge amount of guys in that 500k a year range. Also many that make millions a year....and they fight less rounds. Connor has opened the door to the big paydays.....

Morton was a pro-bowler.

Edit: Actually, no, I just double checked that and he wasn't.

This threads creator will never 1. be competitive in anything outside of stupid, immature, rants without facts. 2. Know or understand the difference between A level and D level athlete's. 3. Most importantly, waste another min of my time. Have a great day.

NFL players are fat and slow, with zero cardio and a small player pool. Soccer players are far more A-level with far more money in the sport. They're true A level athletes

A Level: NFL/NBA
B Level: MLB/NHL/Boxing
C Level: Soccer/Sprinters
D Level: Pro Wrestlers/Movie star martial artists
F Level: MMA/Bowling/Disc Golf/eSports

Do you know what “definition” means?

Do you know what “begging the question” means?

It's a D level sport full of unathletic bums that are content with making 8k/8k for getting punched in the face.

even the champions make pennies compared to boxing

Stipe made 600k for his last fight against ngannou while boxer Anthony Joshua made 10 million for defending his title against a bum

LOL

Dana needs his lifestyle perks. Can’t afford to give raises. Things are tight.

A-level athlete is an athlete who can excel in any sport. It is only a matter of choosing at a young age. A-level athletes tend to choose sports that will pay the most in the long run.

D-level athlete is an athlete who isn't good enough to compete in A-level paying sports so they choose lower paying sports where they can excel. A good example of a D-level athlete is Stipe Miocic.

He failed to make into major league Baseball, so he turned to MMA and became HW champion.

Saquon Barkley everybody. dude is a beast.

Height: 6′ 0″
Weight: 233 pounds
Hands: 9.5 inches
Arms: 31.375 inches
4.41 40-yard dash
41” Vertical
29 reps on bench, 225lbs

This is the type of athlete that the UFC or MMA will never have. Sad really.

There have already been a handful of guts on that level. Brock's combine numbers, relative to being 290lbs, were as impressive as this guy's. I can't imagine Randleman's numbers would've been far off either. Point being true athletic freaks are rare, but not unheard of, in mma.

I consider A-Level,all-star level athleticism. Brock might have been able to get there, but if you can't be an all-star in any major American sport, I'm not sure I go with A-level. This obviously is in the context of professional sports. To me, on the street, someone who played any D1 sport is A-level. It's all relative.
Brock wasn't great at football because he wasn't a football player, competing with guys who had played thir whole lives. Not because he wasn't as athletic as they were. Let's compare Brock, who nearly walked into the NFL after a year or so of solo training, and JJ Watt, who entered the NFL fresh out of D1 football, and is considered among the most athletic in the NFL...

Brock:
Weight - 283lbs
40 yd - 4.65
Broad Jump - 10ft
Vert - 35"
235 Bench - 30 reps

Watt:
Weight - 290lbs
40 yd - 4.84
Broad Jump - 10ft
Vert - 37"
235 Bench - 34 reps

So apparently, one of the best defensive players of this era, is about as athletic as an NFL reject, who took up the sport on a whim, in all of the areas generally recognized as measures of athleticism by the NFL.

Ehmmm....you do know Greg Hardy is in MMA, right? If you looked up A Level athlete, Greg Hardy would be the picture.

And also, they don't always succeed I never MMA, hence the Bobby Knuckle Yoel Paradox. The more muscle and speed you have, the more it takes away from your cardio, hence why sprinters don't look like marathoners. Fighting is a bizarre combination of 99% mental with the remaining parts being toughness, cardio, skill, IQ, creativity, performance etc. Even if you found the definition of 'A level athlete', chances are that some guy would smoke him, owing to the Bobby .Knuckles - Yoel Romero Paradox.

That all being said: Ed Ruth will be a future champ.

boxers make 100$ a fight. And lol at any cunt pushing the ''ABCD'' level athlete bs needs to get sterilised.

All of them were former or current champions.

Rote rehash of a stupid argument made untold times before? Check!
Glancing swipe at Stipe while at it? Check!

Got to hand it to Power!, he's amazingly consistent...
