I here a lot of people saying Tony Ferguson isn't a good striker which is simply a myth. If you actually watch his fights you would see hes a very good striker and has good boxing. Alot people think that Tony isnt a good striker because when he fought Lando. but if you watch that fight alot of times Tony got hit it looked worst because Tony is so awkward and is off balance alot. To get a good idea of how good Tony striking is you need to watch his fight against RDA. Tony use slick movement good boxing and nice range to pick RDA apart. RDA was a bloody mess and outclassed in a fight that was like 90 percent on the feet. I would go as far as saying Tony would have success against Conor on the feet if they fought. He mixes it up alot and has alot of weapons on the feet. He has very long boxing like Diaz but is way more diverse.

Kinda like a baby Condit and Nate Diaz combo.

Tony isn't the worst striker but he can get hit easily, by the way that RDA fight isn't the best to choose from considering he basically blinded RDA in that fight with eye poking.

I posted a vid earlier today that showed his run through TUF.

He won every fight by KO.

He has a lot of power in his strikes, but because he has primarily finished his recent fights with chokes, people tend to discount his striking game.

Which dumbass said this? He has defensive holes but so do many fighters. Dude outstruck RDA and Barboza.

Exactly. He was knocking out mostly everyone he fought even in the TUF finale.

Do people actually think he has no power/bad striking? Wow.

Most of his finishes are due to him hurting/dropping his opponent and then going for the sub. Can't believe that Tony not being a threat on the feet became a thing.

I've never heard anyone say he's a bad striker. I've heard plenty of people say he gets hit a lot, because he does. His offense is good, but his defense can get him in a lot of trouble against a beast like Khabib. So pumped for this fight.

More like Tony used a slick eye poke to pick RDA apart after being outclassed the whole 1st round (?)

Well you must not spend alot of time on Sherdog. Well his defense wont matter against Khabib because Khabib is a wrestler. Tony subs and defenses wrestling will match very well against Khabib. Kevin Lee basically has the same style Khabib has and you seen how Tony handled him.

I don't remember seeing anyone say that.

Regardless, it's nonsense. His striking is just dandy.

Dude was literally dancing while RDA face was torn to shreds in the 5th round. RDA had nothing for him in that fight. Tony ate all his shots like butter while picking him apart.

He got out grappled easily and mounted by fresh Lee?

How did he get out grappled if he subbed Lee ? He handle Lees wrestling well and tapped him out. He showed he could deal with Khabibs style and win. He showed he can be out wrestled and still beat the wrestler. Im Kevin Lee biggest fan but Tony beat him fare and square.

I thought people were saying that he’s the better version of Nate diaz

Like most in this thread, can't say I've heard many folks discount Ferguson's striking...

It’s just that his form is really ugly like the way he dead lifts. Unorthodox

Who says that? Sure, he gets hit a lot, but offensively he a beast. A fast jab, powerful cross and lead uppercut, nasty knees and elbows, and a very unconventional overall striking style that's hard to prepare for.
