The current climate from the mma media is to quote barely famous comics like Joey Diaz, or former fighters looking to build their brand like Brendan Schaub. About borderline nonsense, pc stories to get hits on their websites. They Screen grab Connor McGregor and Nate Diaz Twitter and Instagram posts and they write "sports news" articles about them. As if they have a solid sound bite or fight announcement to create a story around.

What the hecks going on here. Can the media stay relevant to the MMA scene or are we starting to watch TMZ MMA? They're barely talking about upcoming fights because they're too busy talking about headlines that might get hits. "Breaking news Mike Perry broke up with his cornerman" who cares anymore? That's the least important information I've ever had. Why do I know that? I don't care about their relationships. Somethings wrong here.

Who else will give us gold like “immigrant mentality”?

All sports media is like this. Shit, all media in general is like this.

Nobody wants to piss off WME and do alot of actual reporting or they'll lose their press credentials or risk getting flak from paid UFC viral shills.

Yeah whoever did that piece on yves edwards was purely for the brendan schaub controversy. They dont give a fuck about yves. But what do you expect when the president of the mma journalism super cool club is the pissant that is ariel helwani.

MMA “journalists” are just fans who wrote for blogs.

Recently I’ve just stopped consuming mma media and just consumed the fights...it’s much better that way. I trust my opinion over those clowns

This thread will get minimal attention and disappear. This site wasn't like this when I joined.

All I know is that mma media hates James Vick and Mike Perry

Media in general is fucking stupid and biased.

I prefer my mma news on these forums as people are always called out on their bullshit

Joey Diaz rules and his work with Yoel is tremendous.

to be fair joey diaz just had an amazing podcast with yoel romero and is pretty wonderful dude.

I miss when MMA media used to actually cover MMA outside the US. Now its exclusively UFC and Bellator, with the occasional global prospect report.

Really? Was Joey Diaz so good !t translating?
Yes,but also he brought out a genuine side and familarity with yoel that rogan wouldnt have been able to get. Plus it was Diaz idea to have him on his own podcast and it was so good that Rogan had to try to have them try the same thing.
