At times it really does seem like there are MMA Gods.
It seems that when certain things happen which are unjust or are spiraling a little out of control on the hype-o-meter, that good ol' MMA Karma comes along to make the universe whole again.
I made a post the other day:
http://forums.sherdog.com/threads/lawler-vs-hendricks-how-did-you-score-the-2-fights.3212805/page-5
This post was asking others their scores for Robbie Lawler vs Johny Hendricks I & II. I had rewatched II, and I scored it 48-47 Hendricks. I then rewatched the first fight today, and realized how poor the scoring was from one judge. He had round 2 a 10-8 round for HENDRICKS! and a 10-10 final round, when the 1st round wasn't a 10-10 according to him. Just made zero sense, funny how these things iron themselves out. Lawler arguably got screwed in the first bout, Hendricks got screwed a little in the second. MMA Gods don't like you putting your head on a man's crotch to win a fight either!
Other great examples are:
- Conor's complacency with thinking he could be a 3 weight champion, coming to a 209 flavored stop.
- Ronda's complacency, thinking she could stand with a boxer, coming to a shin flavored stop.
- Jon Jones' complacency with alcohol, not training etc. resulting in him being stripped.
- TJ Dillashaw being pushed as a top 5 P4P talent, and then the old dog shows him who's boss.
- Chris Weidman being grounded after believing his own hype after 2 dodgy wins over Silva.
- The minute Dana pushes Barao as #1 P4P, he gets KO'd twice.
- Machida arguably robbing Shogun first time around, then getting KTFO in the second.
- Wanderlei ruining Rampage's mindset with 2 devastating losses in PRIDE, to get revenge with a brutal KO.
- Overeem's steroid taking coming to pasture, with several brutal KO's once he was off them.
Am I missing any great comeuppances being granted by the MMA Gods?
