MMA Decisions: Gastellum vs. Jacare

The first round could have been a 10-8 with Jacare’s grappling. I know it’s not the popular view on sherdog, but I had Jacare via razor close decision. But honestly, I could see it both ways.
 
I was surprised to see Gastelum get the decision. I thought Jacare took rounds one and three, while Gastelum got the second.

Good, competitive fight nonetheless.

It was such a weird fight. Jacare was clearly landing the cleaner shots but Gastelum’s shots seemed to be affecting Jacare more.

True but I feel KG barely landed anything in the 3rd..he was moving forward however. Jacare landed great shots in the 3rd. KG has a great chin but don't see him as a top 5 mw.
 
Fight was extremely close. Can't really get mad at either outcome.
 
I think he won the 3rd just based on how tired Jacare looked. He by far landed the cleaner shots but Gastleum looked better taking them than Jacare did taking Gastelum's mostly blocked shots.

Sure. So round 2 is a 10-8 with the KD and GNP.
 
Jacare gave it his all but slightly closed lower. Don't think either decision was a robbery, but KG won imo. Let's see next fights for both fighters.
 
I was surprised it went to a split decision. Thought it was an easy night for kelvin, barring the 1st. Looked like he gave no fucks about jacares standup, and just ate a lot of his shots. His chin is pretty sturdy. Hes a tough mofo..really hope to see him vs whitaker next. Two guys that came out of tuf around the same time, and made it to the top.
 
Gastelum def won. This really doesn't need to have any type of question lol

Jacare was stumbling and dying out there against a guy he had a legit physical and strength advantage over. Still gassed and got dropped.
 
Jacare won but it was close enough that I'm not that mad

Except it fucked up my parlay so I am actually kinda mad

But Jacare being tired had nothing to do with anything KG did...
 
At least the media scores are split. The media scores were 12-2 in favor of Jacare in the Yoel vs Jacare fight, but somehow Yoel still won.

Jacare's gas tank was suspect last night.

Props to Kelvin's TDD later in the fight.
 
Me and my buddy I was watching with both had Kelvin winning Rds 1 and 2. Close fight, but Jacare looked like he was fighting to survive those last 2 rounds where as Kelvin was looking to finish him.
