21. With Trout out for a while Judge is the frontrunner for AL MVP as well as ROTY at this point. Can't say I saw it coming.

I don't think anyone did with that swing. Plus the avg is very good as well. He made some big changes. Kudos to him.

Bellingoat with two bombs and Seager with the game winning slam. Nice.

A sweep of the Rays and the Jays are no longer in the AL east basement!!!! lol we are such desperate fans at this point.

Sports radio had a discussion last week re: what is the new bar for pitchers to get into the HoF, that the old school 300 wins jis dead.

Thoughts? I honestly have no idea, like so many other things in my life.

Hader (part 3 of the Gomez trade, lefty with mid 90s/nasty slider) and Brinson (top prospect from Lucroy trade) called up this weekend, Phillips a few days earlier. Throw in Arcia who has been up all year and the farm system is starting to LOOM

Lol at the Cubs and Cards still behind the Brewers in mid June when they've been openly rebuilding, Braun hasnt played like half the season and besides one pitcher have the worst bullpen in the world

damn didn't realize the DBags are actually playing really good ball this year

For me there's no single metric

and holy fuck I hope teams start finding the holes in Judge's swing and approach. I haven't watched a lot of him so I honestly don't know if he has any. Dude is OP

So when does the Roid talk start on Judge?

He's juiced to the gills and making baseball great again. No shat the young Yankee face of the franchise gets popped, just like Big PED. Life is good

This was pretty cool

Gonna be so mad if Moncada does what Judge did. Came up, could not make contact with anything and then the next year he can't miss. Moncada is still striking out a lot and is 3 years younger then Judge, but I have a feeling we're gonna end up regretting that trade like every other Dombrowski move. Unless the Sox win one in the next 3 years, then It'll have been worth it.

I never liked baseball's extra emphasis on the HOF, #'s, criteria, etc., but as the game changes so should the archaic thresholds that have been set in place.

I would be shocked if Judge got popped for juice because he is just gigantic. There really isn't a need the ball will go out if he squares it up at 6' 7" 282. He is going old school in his hitting approach, don't swing at balls. If your swings are at pitches close and in the zone, good things will happen. I recall when I played baseball competitively an older teammate of mine would tell me, "no brain, no headache".

Plate discipline is all about maybe a few mantras you tell yourself and not overthinking. I was 5' 5" 160lbs. in high school and I ended up making superlative teams both junior and senior year because of plate discipline.

It's draft day!!!!

Gonna post updates in the Milb thread

@RedCansLoom16 I've heard of a team blaming a fuckup on an injury, but

"For the second time in six months and the fifth time overall, Jerry Remy will be treated for lung cancer, the popular Boston Red Sox television analyst announced Monday on his personal Twitter account."

goes a little far, don't you think?

I don't even think his comment warranted an apology tbh, would be sad/pathetic if they made up that his cancer was back. The fake outrage that stemmed from his comment is what was more alarming to me. Ppl calling for his job and shit lol.

Lol I was joking

@Sauce Castillo My buddy I lived with in Tampa who coached at Bishop last year, you guys took one of his former kids in the first round, solid pitcher.

Nate Pearson, led them to final 4 in states last year.

I guess he progressed a lot, he grew about 2 inches up to 6'6 and is throwing 100 now, he was in low to mid 90s last year when I saw him pitch in HS, really good kid too.
