He was the #1 position player on the market. Even rentals have value like Chapman last year. Or the Giants giving their top prospect for half a season of 50 year old Carlos Beltran

He missed time and pace doesn't equal production, but his current stats projected out to 162 games is like 40+ HR, 100+ RBIs, and a .300 batting average. His OPS is over 1.000 this year. It's not a fluke year either, he's a legit bat that is pretty underrated. Over the last 4 years his OPS combines for over .900 (only under that in one season)


His OPS is 7th in the majors - Between Goldy and Joey Votto... The top prospect that got back is projected to be a utility guy lol
 
Seems Frazier/Robertson/Kahnle to the Yanks is close to a done deal.

I agree dude was worth more, and will get paid. Im not a Tigers fan so don't honestly care. If they took that little for him then must have not been much of a market.

Can't be more snake bitten then the Sox offense right now. That double play Pedroia just hit into sealed the deal.
 


Tanking gets hated on, but I actually really like what the Sox did. Rather then stay mediocre to sale a few more tickets, they completely blew it up to build for the future.
 
Bartalo allowed 8 hits with 4 earned runs in 5 innings. No walks and 3 strikeouts. That was still better than Phil Hughes, I say they give him another shot. He even fielded a chop and tagged someone out.
