Mir vs Werdum

As a huge fan of Mir I want to see Mir-Barnett and Mir-Werdum before he hangs it up.

Pretty sure a ton of people are going to enter the thread and say Mir loses 8 out of 10 times and stuff like that but Mir is dangerous and overlooked. Wasn't Nog supposed to destroy him twice?

after watching Werdum destroy Nelson it feels like they have almost gone out of their way to not maximize his potential.

i mean, not to disparage Russow, but really? and then sit out 7 months for TUF?

hopefully he either fights for a belt or a top 3 contender (whoever isn't a belt holder and isn't name Alistair Overeem) in late '13.

Na just once, he just did better in the time he wasn't supposed to destroy him.

Seriously though Werdum vs Comier and Barnett Vs Mir would be way better......but it is likely we will see Mir vs Comier.

Werdum is one of the worst stylistical matchups for Mir. He has good standup and his ADCC credentials probably mean he knows how to defend a submission attempt.

Mir had chance to catch JDS with some sub, he may catch Cormiet if the fight hits the mat, but he won't catch Werdum.

If UFC brass has any love for Frank, they won't match him against Werdum. Plenty of other HWs around.

If I were Mir I would definitely prefer Barnett to Verdum; at this stage of their careers Verdum is peaking while Barnett is on the way down (though still impressive).

Would be excited to watch either fight though, sure to be some amazing grappling on display.
