I feared it would go this way for Mir, but I actually gave him a shot beforehand. After watching his walk-in and how he looked... his physique... the sweating... everything. Looked like a man preparing himself to be knocked out. Cold sweat........ Either fear or not well, or both. He lost before the fight even began. He fought that way as well. Terrible shit to watch. Seen a lot of Mir fights but I've never seen him this shaky.

Was it because he fought in Australia? Was it because he was scared of being knocked out again? Why was he in such a bad shape? He wasn't in he last few fights right? Terrible shit.

I have not even mentioned the state of his physique, he carried way too much weight, he was not just in bad shape, he looked fat. Hunt looked like a workout guru compared to Mir.

I like the guy. But I really hope he quits or gets the fight someone like Stefan Struve. Although, I also like Stefan........ OMG! It's lose-lose for these fighters.

I could tell from the entrance he was gonna be slow and plodding. I at least figured "oh well fuck it, maybe he can land a big strike or shoot underneath for a takedown if timed correctly anyway"

As soon as he attempted that first predictable level change my heart pretty much sank. I knew it was the beginning of the end already.

If Mir wants to pursue commentary after retirement I would say just be done with it you are a legend.

While I would consider that fairly normal for anyone about to get hit by Hunto, Frank definitely looked in the worst shape I've ever seen for him come fight night. Perhaps he skipped cardio, not counting on Hunt to be as TTS as he was at weigh-ins.

I was really disappointed when he weighed in at 260 again. From recent pics I was expecting him to weigh in at 240 where he should be but nope

Hunt looked In awesome shape. Mir looked fat and gross

IIRC he was limping before the fight started, while Buffer was calling their names.

Mir needs to get back in the shape he was in for the Daniel cormier fight. He looked good in that fight and only lost because he let DC pit him on the cage and hold him there. Jackson had Mir in tip top form but Mir as he does checks out in big fights. Not saying hunt wouldn't have knocked his block off anyway because hunt is so much faster than Mir. War hunto

All that matters is how he looked at the end, which was layed out.

Is there any way just to have a "legends" division? Let these guys fight at catchweights etc BUT PLEASE put them as special attractions and quit putting them as mains and co-mains. Rua, Machida, Rashad, Half the heavyweights, like Arlovski, Mir, throw in Hendo etc.

Mir's gone back to his post motorcycle accident physique for the last few fights at least. He does not look like he takes his career seriously any more. I'm not sure what he's still doing getting in there with these monsters.
As far as fear - that's pretty ridiculous. None of these guys go into the octagon with any sort of "uncomfortable, clammy, sweaty fear" as you describe. Yeah, I'm sure they get nervous but scared of one guy compared to all the many other men Frank has faced? Doesn't make any sense.

I thought I saw some vomit on his sweater already. Looked like spaghetti.

Reminded me of nog 2 where he looked like absolute shit and his punches looked like he was throwing them underwater.

Felt the same, he almost looked sick. Paleness being a side of it, he looked unwell imo and very lethargic, even for a heavyweight.

You're right. TS nailed it on this one. This was a case of me being unfortunately right. Kinda saw the whole thing coming for some reason. Hunt doesn't overextend on his punches, and that's really Mir's best chance to get someone down.

Edit : I don't think they get scared necessarily the exact same way us regular folks do (but maybe. ) It's more of a thing where Mir knows enough to know he's not in phenomenal shape, or maybe had a bad camp. He kinda has an idea how things are likely to go.

Agreed Mir looked like shit. Unfit, overweight. Maybe he wanted to carry the extra weight to be on par with hunt? should have carried muscle instead of flab.
Big foot was very Shaky before his second fight with Hunt at UFC193 as well. as if he was pre empting the KO similar to the way Mir was behaving
