Opinion Millennial Democrats are the poster children of freedom...yet they think they're massively oppressed

Just look at your average millennial democrat, how many countries are so free that their citizens can be openly LBGTQ, insert copious amounts of metal in their faces, be practically naked in public, openly insult the President/government on a public platform and even talking about assaulting them, without arrest, be allowed to work any job they want and have the right to drive a car, full sexual and religious freedom.

Er...these freedoms exist in the vast majority of the developed world. You'd have a more difficult time naming the countries in which you can't do these things than in those you can.

And you tried to imply that it was a phrase that was coined in response to the oppression of ALL Americans rather than the oppression of just SOME Americans. You failed at that.

“Don’t tread on me” is as synonymous with the far right as the MAGA hat. It IS a conservative motto now. Own it.
I don't believe there's any more to discuss. You claimed this was a conservative motto, which it is not and thats all I have to say. Stop trying to move the goalposts.

Not moving the goal post, it is functionally (even if informally) a conservative motto today. That’s just a fact. You’re trying to get cute and discuss its origins from 300 yrs ago, none of that matters. Things evolve. And that phrase has evolved to be a motto strictly associated with one group of Americans. Belly ache about it all you want, it won’t change that fact.

It's certainly been co opted by conservatives in the same way the rainbow has been co opted by the gay community. Here's an article from over a decade ago that's talking about the right taking it for their own. It reminds me a lot of the way the right has taken patriotism and Christianity, I'd argue the lefts policies are closer to Christian teachings and patriotism is working to make the country the best it could be which is also more left than right, but the right has wrapped itself in those identities to the point that it redefines them.

I thought I told you I was done here. I'm not getting cute "discussing its origin". I'm pointing out that you're an asshat trying to use the term as a racist dog whistle. You then spoke up after a few other posters agreed it had nothing to do with what you're saying but debated whether I was right. You're still wrong, either way.

Gotta love how the OP frames the left. The biggest issues to these "millennial Democrats" are not voice actors and periods, it's healthcare, prison and law reform, education, and equality of opportunity. Seems like TS is more than happy to add on the mental illness by pushing the political parties further in to their extremes.

They were bitching about taxation without representation. So no, not really the same thing imo.
Yeah, its the same behavior.

People with more freedom than anyone else at that time start complaining that they are being oppressed by others. That is exactly what the OP was referencing. At the time of the American revolution, none of Britain's colonies had representation. The American colonies weren't the only ones. But they had far less oversight than many of Britain's other holdings. They had it better than everyone else and were still bitching about it.

The British basically had the same tone as the OP: You have so much freedom, you're part of the greatest nation in the world, and you can't think of anything to do but cry "I'm so oppressed."

Nice try buddy. The left is in love with social justice and identity politics. Sure, the examples you give such as prison reform and education are big to them too but let's not pretend like social justice issues aren't a very big part of the left now.

BurnLootMurder and the communist thugs supporting them aren’t founding a country. They’re destroying one. As is always the case with leftism.

But by all means, as a self-proclaimed “conservative”, please continue your spirited and habitual defense of leftism.
At least you hit the trifecta of empty talking points. BurnLootMurder, communist, leftism. It's like paint by numbers.

I guess you would think that's what the left revolves entirely around if the bulk of your exposure to them is rage threads that are spammed constantly on here. Easy to maintain moral high ground when you refuse to argue with anyone but a straw man.

Well that's just very stupid, pardon me for saying it.
I assume he meant to say first world. And he wouldn't be far off. I wouldn't compare it to true oppression, though.

Social media is a cesspool, and the fact that national news corporations take their cues from them is atrocious.

I thought you were done? lol

And you responded with your habitual shit defense of leftism by equating burning, looting, murdering thugs with our founding fathers.

I'm a millennial. A good portion of the leftist people I know on my social media are constantly spamming social justice issues and activism all over their Instagram etc. It seems to occupy them more than anything.

You have your post timelines wrong. My Founding fathers reference came before your comments about burning, looting, murder or thugs.

It really is just paint by numbers, isn't it, lol? You don't read or think, just string together your favorite buzzwords and hope they make sense.

90 percent of the world's "problems" would go away and all of you would be a lot less stressed out if you just stepped out of everyone's echo chamber on social media. The issue is so many people acknowledging every fuckwad and their mother's opinion that gets posted on social media.

Who were you comparing the Founding Fathers to, then?

Who? Your Facebook experience means about jack shit, I mean you literally think you're American because you simply identify as one, so no telling who you associate with. Give me some polls that reflect the OP over my post and then we can talk.
