By Mikes accounts Cus was crazy himself. If I recall correctly, in his book he talks about a time he and another guy living in D'amato's house had to step over Cus to get to the kitchen, because Cus was crawling on the floor fighting invisible soldiers.

I think Mike was going to have some kind of break eventually, D'amato or not. He was a troubled, angry kid. I think that was going to come to the surface in a bad way, one way or another.

Sounds to me like Cus had PTSD, similar behaviour is noticed from world war veterans. He did harness the madness Mr Zapato Man, and that skill was crucial in taming Mr Tyson. These kind of knowledge is important to note when teaching other human beings the way of life. Join me...

He had a daughter that died died from strangulation with a phone while playing on a treadmill. Under any other circumstance he would have been alright but being incredibly rich draws out a lot of bad influences.
