Mike Perry's Pay, how is he broke?

I won 82k a few summers ago in Vegas. Was broke in like 4 months.
It happens.

I have no sympathy for people who make enough money to live a good life and waste it. Spend your money on what you want but don't cry about it when you go broke because you didnt invest, save it or pay your taxes.

good post.
Even with tax payments, he has no dependent children or family to take care of. He is just blowing his cash and he's pretending to be broke, or he's actually broke.
99.9% of USA citizens would very very happy with US$587,000 in 14months (PLUS money from his CBD-MD sponsor).
But he's complaining that "oh when I get the money that I have to then give some to the tax guys, and that's so unfair".

Got zero sympathy. It's called gross income - -get an accountant to manage it and he'll make sure enough is put aside to pay the IRS and all that. I think Mike is spaced out on odd-smelling tobacco half the time. His gf seems to like wearing a top saying "going, going, ganja". I doubt that's a coincidence. See his insta just 1 day ago.

Yeah, he's got 600k Instagram followers and is a somewhat famous athlete. He needs a good accountant and a manager, at this point in his career he could probably live off sponsors alone....He wont be able to make those deals for himself, a manager though could get them for him. 5-10-15k annual sponsors really adds up, for Protein powders, supplements, shitty energy drinks, fitness and athletic gear can go a long way.

This is Mike Perry we are talking about here OP. Why even ask this silly question

I'm pretty sure Perry has an iq around 65.

He looks dumb enough to be one of those hypebeasts that only wears clothing once and shit

When u grow up poor like he did he just splurges. I doubt he’s paid his taxes in a few years as well. I doubt he has any type of investment let alone a home to call his own either.

mike is still only 28 years old and people forget as a wild young man he was making checks in the UFC at 24 years old. When you’ve never seen big numbers before sometimes you go crazy with it. I’m sure he was buying a ton of things he never needed but you have to live and learn.

here’s to hope that at 28 years old now he finally starts to mature and become wiser with his money. You can’t run from Uncle Sam forever so he needs to get that under control first. Then it would be smart to buy himself a house with another with before renting it out and buying another property for himself with his next win after.

I'll be the first to tell you, UFC fighters are not paid what they're worth in regards to the revenue split and in general, this along with Perry basically leaving a gym and cutting out trainers due to being broke along with owing back taxes made me want to dig into his paydays and I was shocked with what I found.

Mike Perry vs Alex Oliveira April 27th 2019, Perry made 55k/55k with a 50k bonus for FOTN. 160k (won)

Mike Perry vs Vincente Luque August 10th 2019, Perry made 67/67k with a 50k bonus for FOTN. 117k (loss)

Mike Perry vs Geoff Neal UFC 245 December 14th 2019, Perry made 90k/90k. 90k (loss)

Mike Perry vs Mickey Gall June 27th 2020, Perry made 90k/90k. 180k (won)

Perry makes 10k in addition with his Reebok money each fight (which would be easily 50k if Reebok didnt exist, sadly) and he gets paid for only sponsor I know of besides Reebok, CBD-MD. He got 180k for beating up a 6-2 MMA fighter that is a regional level talent and Perry himself isnt a top 20 WW....

Perry isn't the brightest crayon in a marines mouth but considering how well he gets paid, I was surprised. With the money he saved on not paying a gym or coaches, he should invest in an accountant and financial advisor to help him with his taxes as a contractor and to better budget and invest his income.

Platinum Bless.

He pretty much spelled it out in his interview although he's not the most well-spoken or eloquent.

As soon as he gets his check he goes out and spends it all without a thought or care in the world. Taxes aren't taken out so he's screwed when the taxman comes next year. He wishes the taxes would get taken out upfront so he could go out and spend whatever is left without a care in the world and still be broke without much to show for after but not owing the government any taxes.

Mike Tyson blew 300 million

Its not hard if you don't have "Life Management Skills"

Perry does not obviously

A persons financial health has very little to do with income..
