I'll be the first to tell you, UFC fighters are not paid what they're worth in regards to the revenue split and in general, this along with Perry basically leaving a gym and cutting out trainers due to being broke along with owing back taxes made me want to dig into his paydays and I was shocked with what I found.

Mike Perry vs Alex Oliveira April 27th 2019, Perry made 55k/55k with a 50k bonus for FOTN. 160k (won)

Mike Perry vs Vincente Luque August 10th 2019, Perry made 67/67k with a 50k bonus for FOTN. 117k (loss)

Mike Perry vs Geoff Neal UFC 245 December 14th 2019, Perry made 90k/90k. 90k (loss)

Mike Perry vs Mickey Gall June 27th 2020, Perry made 90k/90k. 180k (won)

Perry makes 10k in addition with his Reebok money each fight (which would be easily 50k if Reebok didnt exist, sadly) and he gets paid for only sponsor I know of besides Reebok, CBD-MD. He got 180k for beating up a 6-2 MMA fighter that is a regional level talent and Perry himself isnt a top 20 WW....

Perry isn't the brightest crayon in a marines mouth but considering how well he gets paid, I was surprised. With the money he saved on not paying a gym or coaches, he should invest in an accountant and financial advisor to help him with his taxes as a contractor and to better budget and invest his income.

Platinum Bless.

bro athletes who get paid A LOT more than Perry and aren't as blatantly stupid go broke.

Mike Perry is buying some girl he met a couple months ago louie bags and taking her on cruise ship vacations. it's pretty easy to see how he spends that money quick.

Do you have ESPN+? Watch the 30/30 Broke.... Athletes who have made way more are doing worse.

Perry needs to pull a Travis Brown-Rousey and get some out of shape sugar momma.

Probably never paid the tax man and now he’s screwed. Guessing from his interview last night

As a “independent contractor” I think you get screwed in taxes. I have a friend that’s a trainer (not mma), and she always owes a ton of money. I think Perry must have spent what he earned, not realizing he would owe.

I know a lot of athletes personally who make far less and are doing fine for themselves and their families too. He cleared 350k in 2019 before taxes as a single male and non home owner.

The dude really brought up taking taxes out of his fight pay like it was some bright idea he just had, so I dont expect him to be that smart with his money. With IRS and trainer expenses cut those payouts down about 55-60%.

I won 82k a few summers ago in Vegas. Was broke in like 4 months.
It happens.

The guy makes more than most people do in 2 years, blows it all on extravagant bullshit cause he thinks he’s some type of millionaire then wonders what the fuck happened. It’s absolutely amazes me, fucking Louie Bags that cost more than his apartment rent and falling in love with a soulmate each week is some high school bullshit.

It's not how much you make, it's how you spend. Easy to live just fine on what Perry is making, but if you spend like a dumbass you end up broke.

good post.
Even with tax payments, he has no dependent children or family to take care of. He is just blowing his cash and he's pretending to be broke, or he's actually broke.
99.9% of USA citizens would very very happy with US$587,000 in 14months (PLUS money from his CBD-MD sponsor).
But he's complaining that "oh when I get the money that I have to then give some to the tax guys, and that's so unfair".

Got zero sympathy. It's called gross income - -get an accountant to manage it and he'll make sure enough is put aside to pay the IRS and all that. I think Mike is spaced out on odd-smelling tobacco half the time. His gf seems to like wearing a top saying "going, going, ganja". I doubt that's a coincidence. See his insta just 1 day ago.

The irs should be paying mike Perry. Not the other way around.
