would you say perry is an average sized WW or a small welterweight? I think he has fought at LW before. Would LW suit his fighting style better and would he have a size advantage perhaps? where do you see him rank in LW?

I don't know he looks like a fair sized WW to me.

LW is and for a long has been a deep division. Skilled opponents + long waiting list (to the title) of younger and veteran fighters. Skilled Guys like Nate Diaz and Alvarez struggle to maintain top order at 155.

WW without GSP is up for grabs, a few new top guys, older guys (like Maia, Condit) are turning over. His odds are better at WW. Two wins and he’s back in the mix.

He just needs to fight smarter, game plan instead of throwing overhands all fight long. Maybe he can set his punches up behind a jab, throw some faints, and work in some leg kicks and take-downs.

or he could go with WMMA... where he may have a chance.

Wait! You want him to have some real coaching? What are you trying to accomplish? Do you actually want to see him get better and then we have to suffer all this Platinum stupidity all over again?

LW Perry was ripped af. Unfortunately he can no longer make that cut.

Great idea. Take a guy that already has suspect cardio and make him cut 15 more pounds. That's a recipe for sure fire success.

Ah shit yea. That makes sense. Way too ripped. But i heae he is around 183 in cage. Well askren is 185 so i suppose he is a fairly sized ww afterall.

Dude isn't a technical striker. He's a stand and bang brawler. Basically you want to him throw away everything that has been successful for him and turn him into something he's not.

He'd get smoked in that division as well.

don't think he'd be able to do it

Kinda reminds me of Thiago Alves and he as expected couldn't make it to 155

he just needs to actually join a legit gym
he isn't going to be a world champion but he will hang around and get some Ws and some Ls but will always give you that exciting fight

That's fine, but if he wants to be anything more than a fading side attraction, he'll have to improve his game. He won't do much better in Bellator (if they'd even take him) since WW is their deepest division.

HW is pretty much the only division where "semi-athletic, 26-year old brawler with some power" is marketable these days.

His size or style reminds you of Alves? Alves was/is more technical than Perry, that's for sure.

Thiago Alves had trouble making 170 FFS. All that attempted drop to 155 did was take away from his power in the end.
