I understand War Machine is dangerous, but his sentence was a bit too long considering his victim is walking around fine atm. I think he should be released after serving 10-12 years.

I am in favor of penalising the intent more than the result. But it is indeed an harsh sentence given that the "result" is what is usually juged, at least here in Canada.
