You can definitely tell that he's got what it takes to be up there with the greats. He's got great hands, iron chin, aggression and charisma - at a young age of 25. If he was fighting in Chuck era he'd be holding the strap right now.

Haters always post the Jouran knockdown but that that will only light a fire under him, remember Conor lost to scrubs (outside the UFC no less) and people gobble his nuts like groceries.

Admittedly I'd like to see him train at a bigger camp like the main ATT or even Hooft's new gym. Add a killer TDD and more evasive approach and he'll be champ no doubt.

I don't do the Matthew Perry thing in legitimate threads. But this thread is just more dumb Perry bullshit.

You have Perry and Jones as dead even over their first 10 fights... that's patently ridiculous and the removes any shred of legitimacy the thread could have had

Jones achievements are incredible and to be fair I wasn't taking the speed at which Jones did it into consideration perhaps my own bias towards Jones as a person affected this. I must agree that like GSP, Jones was also slightly ahead at this stage in his career...

This is essentially my point, all the greats had a loss or two (in Conor's case) by the time they'd had ten fights yet people are writing Mike off already. No one knows the future but I believe the future is bright, the future is Platinum.

Finally we can have an hate free discussion about Platinum Mike.
To make my opinion short I'll just go with simple facts.
Mike Perry fought 3 times in the UFC.
The first two guys he beat the crap out of never came back and we never heard of them again.
He just put an end to their young carreers.
Knowing this, jouban played it safe and out ran Platinum Mike (talk about a pussy game plan)
Then PMP challenged at least two guys.
One is seriously considering retirement and the other prefered to sign on another promotion.

So if Platinum Mike face a warrior with a will to fight, he'll end his carreer.
If he is about to face a fake warrior, the fake warrior will run away as fast as he can.
