Mike Perry : 'BKFC is a step up from the ufc as far as contract'

It's too early to say if BKFC's business model is sustainable. A lot of these companies come out of the gate super generous, only to fold a short way down the line.
They apparently paid PVZ $500K per fight to get embarrassed in her two fights as “the face of the organization”. It was a gamble that failed miserably.

Yes.

And I know someone will say "well, no, it was Josh Barnett's fault." Yes, that is partially true, but given the low PPV buys their two PPVs did and the purses they were paying some fighters, there's no way they would've lasted muvh afterwards with those purses regardless of Barnett's failed test.

Wal-Mart is a step up from UFC. You get benefits, health insurance, dental, a pension, and you don't end up with CTE in your 30s and 40s.
I know you're trolling, but this is one of the most asinine things I've ever read on this forum.

Oh yeah, sure.

The company that doesn't give a shit what condition it's fighters are in and has already had someone die in their ring due to sheer negligence is 'more accommodating' than the UFC.

STFU, Mike. BKFC is the drizzling shits.

Yup. If one fighter dropping out can kill your business, you can't blame that fighter, you were gonna fail anyway.

Honestly can't really remember his last fights but i think he started out trying to box it out & was getting picked apart in every fight and then tried to clinch & stuff. I could be wrong though.
Completely fair and true. Absolutely forgettable. And getting outclassed in his supposed speciality. The only part escaping your memory is him intitiating the clinches, etc.

Just don’t hand me no bullshit about black belt hands when the guy was literally trying to push people up against the cage for minutes at a time.

I don’t know if the contracts are a “step up” or if BKFC’s lawyers are a step down

Exactly this. A lot of these people think money grows on trees. It's nice to pay a lot but if you cant keep the doors open it's pointless

Hi Dana.

Since this is about being honest and Steiger forward. We are all also waiting for the day UFC says we are sorry we had this guy on 15 of our cards before cutting him. We sucked and are improving our product that’s why he’s no longer here, cause we realized we indeed sucked and were having bums fights on cards we were charging 70$ for.
Wow, such an original and thought out reply..

Hi, Dana.

Please tell me you’re the chapter President of the local MENSA organization. Otherwise I just might walk off a tall building, merely by the way you totally scorched me.

on one hand the idea of Platinum Perry clicking through several tabs of an excel spreadsheet comparing his various financial comings and goings by employer is very funny. on the other hand, I wonder how many of the people saying things like this are just doing it because it's the flavor of the month. although looking at some of these responses, the exact kind of dorks that are supposed to get super mad and fly into a defensive rage are doing exactly that, so I hope people keep saying this shit forever

I'm not trolling, and I'd be interested in knowing why it's asinine.

Are you saying a guy like Spencer Fisher wouldn't have been better off working at Wal-Mart than fighting in the UFC? And I have news for you, he's not an outlier, there are going to be a lot of guys in similar situations.

If someone wants a job yes. The UFC isn't a job. Its a contract. The fighters can still go work at Walmart while having a fight contract too. You obviously know zero about the difference between employment and contracts. Contracts don't normally come with insurance or pension regardless of career field. You buy your own insurance unless you are an employee.

What exactly do people expect the guys that have been kicked to the curb say? Seriously?

Oh yes, the UFC was top notch all the way, and now I’m making less money, but I’m actually happier fighting in obscurity as opposed to the premiere promotion on the planet.

Yes, I’m waiting for a fighter to actually say the obvious. But not one of them ever will. He didn’t CHOOSE to leave the UFC for some mythical greener pastures. He was shown the door.

/Perfect!

It’s a niche sport and always will be just because of the brutality. But if all people want to do is shit on pretty much every aspect of it. Why bother even watching. I just don’t fucking get it.

People talk bout UFC shills but I swear a good # a folk are camp shills or camp trolls. I'm pretty fucking open minded but the mindset that prevails is ridiculously obtuse.
