they should fill it with water and give them floatees as well
 
It's been thrown around a lot over the years. There's the concern about the fact that the glass could become smudged and obscure the action, and the major concern about injuries that would occur against the glass. Since it's a hard surface without the give of the fence its much more dangerous to be slammed/gnp'd/taken down against it.
