Mighty Mouse is no smaller than Bruce Lee, why is Bruce lee larger than life

Bruce Lee
-International film icon who's star has shined across multiple generations
-Brought martial arts to the mainstream
-Philosopher
-Oozed charisma

Mighty Mouse
-Pretty cool guy that is a great martial artist

Please show me the proof that Bruce lee beat anyone at all.
The mans a myth plain and simple.
Johnson is the real fighter in this equation whether you like it or not, let's be honest here.

While at this point proving it with some sort of official record is probably impossible, but there are multiple sources--including one first-hand account--that say Bruce boxed competitively in his teens and won a high school boxing championship.

The fight with Wong Jack Man also is known to have occurred and there are multiple people who testify that Bruce did win that match.

If Bruce had NCAA wrestling pedigree, he would be about the size of the average featherweight. Smaller than Conor [who is huge for the division], but bigger than Frankie. I mention the wrestling because the heavy grappling would give him a thicker lower back and legs. His frame is bigger than Dominick Cruz's, so he would weigh more with decent posterior chain.

Again this is just talk. There's no proof any of it happened

There's literally hours of film of him beating guys of all races and sizes. He beat some guy 7 foot tall.

There's literally hours of footage? That's bullshit, there is literally zero. I think you are confusing enter the dragon with real life here

Eyewitness testimony is a form of proof. In the past, it's been judged strong enough to send people to prison.

If enough people are telling the story, you have to lend it at least some credence.

Take the Wong Jack Man fight, for instance. There's really little doubt at all that it happened. There were multiple witnesses and WJM even published his own account of the event in a local newspaper. Wong's camp and Bruce's camp have conflicting versions of the bout and how it all went down, but both agree that the match did actually take place.

Dayum! MM winning at life.

bruce lees the man who influenced mixed martial arts so much that we have it as a sport 2day thru his movies/philosophy/demonstrations

Ok he's 139, Bruce Lee would be cutting weight to fight BW or FW.
No one really knows how much Bruce weighed. There are reports ranging from anywhere between 130 to 165.

Bruce managed to increase his body weight from 130 pounds to almost 165 pounds. However, Bruce Lee was not really satisfied with the added muscle mass which made him looked like a bodybuilder. He felt that it slowed him down.

Bruce Lee holds a win over Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, that's a better win than anyone on MM resume.

Everyone wants game and fo

I've got no hate for Bruce lee / he never ran around claiming to be the toughest man alive and did his thing: practicing martial arts and making movies. Props to him.

To ask the question why can't MM be a big star when Bruce Lee was huge - I don't know how to answer that. One is a soft spoken fighter who many consider not extremely exciting and one was kicking Kareem Abdul Jabaar and chuck Norris's ass in movies. You do the math.

On the note of Bruce lee's importance to today's mma. If Lee had never existed the mma world would exist just the same as it does today. that's not a hate on Bruce - it's just fact.

That's fair, but I think it isn't hard to see how the tone you had in the first comment made it seem like anyone who is a fan of Lee is a dumb fanboy and that Lee was only a movie star. He did have a lot impact on martial arts in general and was a real fighter apart from his movie star fame though.

You're also right that MMA would still exist with Lee today, I never claimed it wouldn't. However you aren't really addressing the point I made. It is like saying people shouldn't care about Aristotle or Kanada because we would have found atoms in a microscope anyway. When somebody has a way of thinking that is creative and far ahead of their time I think people should respect the ideas they developed.
