long story short, there is a good chance i'll end up in Winnipeg for school (umanitoba) and I have a few questions about the city. I'm from Toronto myself.

1) would it be annoying to not have a car there? i.e how is the public transit system?

2) how are the ladies?

3) Is the city anything special when it comes to safety? mostly interested in the area around UofM

4) what about the nightlife? i'm somewhat big into clubbing/partying

There were good strip joints last time I was there.

what's wrong with the schools in toronto? winterpeg...

<{clintugh}>

damn, which ontario schools did you apply to?
Mac-rejection, Still waiting on Queens
not eligible for UWO, Ottawa or U of T due to fucking up my coursework

Queens would be dope. Love Kingston, such a great party town with so many fine women.

1) If you live around the university you'll probably be fine with just using public transit to get there. For literally anything else, it will be annoying to not have a car. No Uber or Lyft just yet, plus the city has always had endless room to keep expanding due to how flat the surrounding area is, so urban sprawl is a problem.

2) There are only 700,000 people here, total population, so take that how you will. You'll probably be fine if you throw around the med school thing.

3) You don't have anything to worry about. Just don't join a gang or try and rip people off in a drug deal and you'll be fine. If you leave a bike somewhere unlocked, it will be stolen. Also if it's locked.

4) Not my area, but I would go in with low expectations. My understanding is that med school at the U of M is essentially it's own little closed society, you'll just end up partying with them and the law school students at private events.

Weird. My brother just applied to teach there

So it sounds like virtually very little crime for a larger city.

I appreciate the response, brother. This was very informative

Is there a difference between CANadian tundra towns like Toronto and Winnipeg?

Pretty bleak... but seems you're already accustomed to it.

It's cold, flat, ugly and barren. Don't do it.
