Oh, they've been torn apart in the press in the days since I posted that. Facebook and Microsoft are hammering them. Some independent developers are suing them. A few Google executives have also weighed in with their displeasure.That is comical. What’s hilarious is the reference to the web and Safari because you could extend their policy to absurd levels to say Safari allows you to access content on the web that hasn’t been vetted by Apple.

The killshot has been the argument raised by observers that Apple says they can't allow these apps because they don't control their content, but they allow Netflix, Hulu, and dozens of other apps on their store for services with huge content libraries that aren't pre-approved by Apple. It's just so obvious this has nothing to do with security or quality control. This is about dollar bills.
