Microsoft Surface PRO

Well to be fair, that's absolutely awesome. But why not just buy a laptop then?

Because most laptops don't have touch sensitive screens and the ones that are aren't using an OS optimized to use one comfortably. They're also twice as expensive (or more) than the surface pro.

The very definition of an ultrabook refutes this.

Ultrabooks have touch screen capability, Windows 8 and are generally less expensive than a Surface Pro.

I have had my Toshiba for about 3 years now, it runs everything beautifully, and it cost me $300. I guess it's a bit of "luck of the draw" though. Some people don't get as much out of their PC's.

Mobility.

Possibly. There are a lot of nice mobile laptops but likely not as efficient as the Surface. It'll be interesting to see how well this does and whether or not it's the real deal instead of a faulty prototype.

The problem with most ultrabooks is they aren't all convertibles. This is what makes tablets comfortable to most people otherwise people would still be buying laptops instead of tablets. The ones running windows 8 are still more expensive than the older Windows 7 kind.

My Ultra book fits the bill for most everything.

Eliminated my need for a Pad and a Engineering level laptop (I used to carry both)

however -I played with the new Microsoft Surface stuff in timesquare a few weeks ago.
-was really impressed

Well when Im on an 30min-1hr train ride I dont really feel like pulling out a laptop, that is when tablets come in handy.

Im thinking of getting a convertable
