Michael Venom just got KTFO

"If he didn't try to get up". Yeah no, it all happened very quickly and I don't think MVP had a chance to avoid that punch, it was on its way long before he could have made the decision to stay down and he already got cracked by the time he was able to react.
Only way to avoid that was going into guard. Easy to say he should have done it now, but he just had Lima hurt and if he did that, the amount of people that would shit on his fight IQ would be in the thousands lol truth is Lima landed that kick perfectly and was accurate with the follow up punch.

I think MVP was handled poorly by Bellator. His style and game is so arrogant and cock that him getting squashed should have been a giant meme by now. Instead, there is just a few threads on Sherdog. Combat sports are so fulfilling because everyone gets theirs sooner or later, and the more arrogant one is, the more fulfilling it is to see them be humbled.

The fact they say exposed is even more laughable considering they're basically saying Lima sucks.

If you dont think Lima sucks then he couldn't have gotten exposed because it was two good fighters facing off. One has to win one has to lose.

If Volk lost to Aldo tonight would he also have been exposed?
He lost to the first legit opponent he faced and looked terrible agsint an aged journeyman prior. If he continues to fight and lose to legit opponents would you consider him exposed as a can crusher?

I'm looking at the slow mo and Lima was already throwing the punch when MVP's head was up, I don't think he even saw Lima throwing the punch and to make things worse, Lima did the smart thing by grabbing his head so he could place the uppercut even better. MVP was not gonna avoid that punch, I don't see it. I get that he tries to rationalize it in his own mind now because he needs to but he lost that fight the moment Lima chopped him to the canvas with the leg kick. His mistake was the stance, in other words his style of fighting which didn't work against Lima a superior fighter, not "oh my only mistake was trying to get back up".

I loved it. Great night, seeing all the Brazilian crowd silent and salty as hell on UFC, and then seeing this poser get knocked out cold, great stuff.

Peeps shitting all over that horse stance style venom has . It got him , Wonderboy and Machida to the highest levels. They use it cause it works and is effective . Traditional Muay Thai stance Leaves you extremely vulnerable to good boxing and a good boxing stance leaves u vulnerable to leg kicks as well . They all have their weaknesses . Yes venoms stance does leave u more vulnerable to leg kicks but watch Benny The Jet fight Thais with his long pants on and shit to show you how to counter that . Venoms big mistake was throwing that right from WAYYY back, like past his hip , lunging out of range . That left him exposed and overcommitted which let that leg kick out him off balance . Lima was not having success with that kick in the first and early in second . That said ..I’m happy venom lost cause he’s a prick .

Sure when he keeps losing. 1 loss isn't exposed, esp not vs Lima.

Lol this was so satisfying that I needed a cigarette afterwards...

It was an incredible knockout Goldie. I was going ballistic.

Look kids! MVP is a great athlete and a very different look and problem to solve for an opponent. He is a great talent and can win in highlight form..we can't blame him for the "world beater" status Bellatore tried to create him as...it's there job as a promoter! But, that Karate Style that he uses with great ability fighting Cans has a lot of holes in it fighting top level guys!
Bellatore will feed him someone like rickels or Silva again and the pump will continue.

I still prefer to see an MVP than a Fitch, courture, Sonnen, Country, Mir, etc!

How tf do you put yourself in a position, with a 9 inch reach advatage to get uppercutted while getting up.

Such a strange ko

Well here why almost no one use that stupid side stance from american style full contact kickboxing/karate anymore

Also the mistake was to try to get up asap carelessly instead of observing/taking more time/laying on his back a bit .
One loss doesn't make him a chump though
That kind of stance only really works if it's southpaw vs orthodox because it makes it harder to target the legs.
You also need solid boxing fundamentals and I'd argue that more basic kicks (front leg sige kick and rear leg teep for example) are often more effective than the flashy stuff. Use the lead leg side kick when your opponent tries to get an outside angle, you should try to get the outside angle, do lots of hand fighting and throw your lead hook and your cross as your main punches.

Lima v MacDonald 2 next as well. I reckon Lima could finish him and win this time.
I dont know if Rory is mentally strong and/or fit enough to get through Gracie. And I do believe Lima will destroy Rory if he somehow makes if to the finals.
