Michael Page has been a pro MMA since 2011

Who cares? It's his career and he can do whatever the hell he wants with it. Personally I think it is a huge waste of talent but if he's happy with it, more power to him.

You got a point. I bet Page could make a lot of money smashing cans for his entire career.

Plus from fighting cans
-no brain damage
-become the god of casuals
-become a internet/YT legend
-gains popularity (imagine showing some chick his own highlights)
-fight for longer

Cons
-never become a real top fighter
-never become the champ
-get bashed by real fans

Crazy to think that Jon Jones became UFC world champion only 3 years after his first MMA fight. There really are levels to this thing

And he’d only been training for something like 9 months by the time he made it to the UFC which is insane and almost stands alone.

Though he was a wrestler for 10 years.

I agree TS Page is becoming annoying at this point.

I’m not sure Rory MacDonald or Gegard Mousasi can be appropriately qualified as “UFC rejects”. If they are, than so is 90% of the UFC roster.

Bader’s not a reject. Phil Davis? (Didn’t he go to Bellator?).

Who are these “rejects”, and what do you mean by that term?

If reject is intended to mean those fighters “rejected” bullshit fight purses and the Reebok deal, then I suppose I would agree with you there.

If “reject” is intended to mean “rejected” for not being appropriately skilled... well... wow... I wouldn’t know what to say.

It sounds like blind brand loyalty, perhaps?
Stalled out fighters without a "future" in the UFC.. Rejects.

He obviously has no intention to challenge himself and climb the rankings. I consider most his fights exhibitions than anything else.

Let him slowly climb through the rankings.

He is in Bellator's best division and, if he wins one more, he'll have the second longest win streak in the history of Bellator : he'll have as many consecutive wins as Askren and Chandler had in their reign of dominance. Yet he still avoids the top guys at his weight and even last fought a random lightweight.

He is stuck on the "exciting young prospect" train with Erik Silva. He is probably getting paid big $$$ and banging 10s. Man, what a loser.

My guess would be that MVP is getting paid solid $ for being a flamboyant and spectacular finisher, if he can make that $ by beating potato cans and fighting guys past their prime why even bother vs'ing athletic, in their prime wrestlers
This guy gets it.

He called out Paula Daley for nearly a year, no one wants to fight MVP either.
That’s such bullshit, Daley called him out and when MVP was next asked about it post fight, he pretended to not know who Daley was.
“no one wants to fight MVP” more like MVP wants to fight no ones.

To put that in context; Erick Silva debuted in 2005. He still has all the time in the world.

LOL
Zuffa zombies are so envious right now.....

The shortcuts because someone is famous is something UFC does...
Bellator is doing it the right way.
Let him slowly climb through the rankings.
<{Heymansnicker}>
Couldn't he climb up the ranking a little slower? I worry he might fight someone in top10 way too soon at this speed lol

His last couple opponents have been solid fighters made to look like bums, or atleast in Rickels case, by MVP. Gonzalez put up a better match.

Not that a shill would admit it even if they knew what they were talking about in regards to the guys he fought.

Now go crazy for Israel who has beaten cans(while losing rounds to them) but is the next Jon Jones.
Rickels, the very average LW.
MVP got a taste of very mediocre WW in Gonzalez, struggled so went back to fighting blown up LWs and complete cans in boxing.
There is a point where ‘being brought up slowly’ becomes ‘being kept away from anybody decent’

I was a fan of his team bringing him a long slowly.. but then it got tooooo slow... and then the announcement to go boxing was the final straw. It is obvious that the skill is there.. but it doesnt matter if keep fighting paper tigers..
It’s what’s most frustrating! The guy has some legit kickboxing skill! But refuses to look for a real test
