Michael Johnson: The best striker in the division

In the UFC I'd argue he's top 5 as far as striking. He's come a long way.

Cerrone/MJ or Nate/MJ would be fun competitive scraps I think.

I think a lot of you guys need to brush up on your boxing, Michaels handspeed, footwork, timing and movement were spectacular today

He had a right to talk shit to guillard post fight.

MJ and Bobby Green stand ups are looking impressive. I wouldnt count em out of top 5.

I think he has top 5 striking in the division and will continue to get better. No way he is the best though.

When has Khabib ever proven himself as being an elite striker? Outstriking Pat Healy for a round and a half (and then slowing down and getting tagged frequently in the latter part of the 2nd before relying on his grappling in the 3rd) doesn't indicate you have elite striking. Bobby Green arguably looked better than he did against Healy in the stand up, and no one is calling Green an elite striker.

im more confused about benson being on there his striking consists of throwing kicks while running and wide looping punches and bobby should definitely be above khabib i think people see a guy with shitty striking ko someone and assume that means they are like tyson

He's confident in his abilities and he's promoting himself. What's the problem? I wouldn't consider him to be the best striker either. He's entitled to an opinion.

I want either one of these fights to be made.

1. Pettis
2. Alvarez
3. Nurmagomedov
4. Benson/Melendez/Thomson
5. Dont know where to rank Grant as a striker so ill put him here
6. RDA
7. Johnson/Cerrone

You leave out Edson Barboza and Anthony Njokuani but Khabib is there. Benson probably has no business there, let alone Khabib.

Pettis, Alvarez, and I feel Diaz and cerrone are top strikers even Though cerrone can be inconsistent

In regards to Johnson. The man is entitled of his opinion. He SHOULD feel like the number one striker whether he is or isn't. That's the kind of confidence great fighters need.

He has second most knockdowns in lightweight history lets start giving him some credit

Diaz IMO would tool him on the feet - Diaz weakness is kicks, not boxing. I don't think MJ could use his range against a rangier guy like Diaz.

Pettis is obviously better on the feet.

Ben Henderson isn't flashy but could probably outpoint him with kicks.

Grant would KO him.

Ceronne would have a great chance but it depends if his gameface is on. They should make that fight actually, it would be great

RDA would also be competitive.

Josh Thompson if he was injury free could beat him standing.

Melendez has better boxing IMO, maybe not as much power though. I'd pick Melendez to win on the feet.
