It’s a tough call. I think Chandler needs to come in at his best and with improved cardio to win this. Hooker is not an easy debut fight for him at all.

Yeah I agree with you. I’d lean towards Hooker in a 5 rounder, as Chandler has looked worse (and been stopped) in later rounds. I’m thinking that over 3 rounds, Chandler can keep up the grind and the pace. I might have to study this one a bit more though.

Chandler is the next: Ill Will Brooks, Hatsu Hioki, Mirko Crocop, Kid Yamamoto, Gilber Melendez, etc. etc. etc. (Cue the sherbro with the "what about Gaethje?" and my answer is that he was a cunthair from starting his career 0-3, then who knows how his career pans out.)

Chandler is a lot faster than Hooker, so he may catch him early, but it will cost him his cardio so if Hooker survives he has that far reaching knee of his. Its going to be fun fight.

I also hope chandler succeeds he would make for fun matchups vs Dustin, Justin, Brox, etc. He’s a great addition to the division I just wish it happened a couple of years earlier

I believe he's more than capable. I just question if he would do it. He's been trying to get on superstar cards for the exposure. He might be looking to make a splash instead of just winning.

when was the last time the chandler guy fought??? can he have some ring rust??? ik he came frome bellator,but hes stepping up now and hes just been talking. imagine his 1st ufc fight being a snooze fest or him getting koed in 1st round. any hype he has now would be over fast

Win or lose chandler is always in exciting fights. Really aggressive. Especially early. This will be a fantastic fight and really tough matchup for chandler. IMO.

I think Chandler's gonna make a statement here.. He's been in just as deep of water as Dan if not deeper, has more power and can wrestle. Just not a good matchup on paper if you look at it that way.

I don't. I think in his prime, sure. I think he can wrestle his off with certain matchups, but I think he can also get timed. I also don't think he has the gas tank to wrestle 3-5 rounds. I think the wrestling favors him early. If it doesn't work, he's going to get tired and discouraged.

Has anyone seen a betting line on this fight? While there are some questions about Chandler’s chin and durability at this point in his career, I’m leaning towards him grinding Hooker out.

I’m gonna have to really study that one before I bet on it. I’m tempted to throw a bit on Chandler at those dog odds. Chandler has a really good shot at winning imo. It’ll be a really interesting fight either way though.
