The IQ is key. If this were 3 rounds I would favor Chandler but in 5 rounds I go Pimblett. Chandler has some of the worst fight IQ in the MMA game currently and he never really utilizes his grappling often as he should. As long as Paddy can get past Chandler's power I think he wins.

This is going to end like Page vs Machado. Chandler will win by decision. But because it wasn't a bad loss, pimblett will look at it as a win for him. And if Oliveira didn't submit Chandler then pimblett sure as hell ain't either.

Fun fight, crazy card. I like both Chandler & Paddy, so have not chosen who to root for, just hoping the whole thing comes together without any late date pull outs or substitutions. Both have good "fight IQ", Paddy has been improving on taking advantage of the openings that happen, and Chandler has long chosen the intelligent approach of full bore exciting fights always. What a drag it would have been if Chandler had entered the UFC with an attitude of "fighting smart", by being cautious, and just trying to wrestle hug everybody against the fence all night, seeking a winning night instead of an exciting night.

Chandler had power and cardio. No brains I admit, and it's funny to see that not just in fight IQ, but in general. Him waiting for conor still irks me.

Chandler still had gas in the tank during the 5th round against DuBronx. That is ominous.

I would like to see Paddy join Joaquin Buckly in vanquishing rank squatters.

But Paddy has surprised us before and we shall see how he deals with the pressure Chandler will without doubt put on.

Right but he's now gone 6-0 in the UFC with 4 of those being stoppages.

At this level you are going to win and lose some close decisions, we don't pick a single fight to harp on we look at their overall body of work. FFS Islam got knocked out in his debut.

To say someone who went 6-0 in the lightweight division and just speed ran put away Bobby Green is "just not that good" is a bit of derangement barrier around the guy.

IMO this is a pick-em and a perfect fight for Chandler. He's not going to get out wrestled by Paddy and he's a world class MMA grappler and brutally strong. Paddy has to hurt him in a striking exchange to get a ground advantage.

I think Chandler has a pretty good chance of getting a T/KO here. Styles make fights.

Topuria has officially moved up and Ariel is reporting he's going with Islam on international fight week. You still have Arman and Charles as top contenders waiting.

Outside of injury or freak circumstances Paddy will need another win to get a title shot.

Yeah whether or not it goes his way is up in the air. Paddy couldn't get past Gordon without the judges being bought and paid for. Just saying the UFC is really trying to feed Paddy ridiculously inflated 'ranked' opponents who have no business being ranked where they are to up his stock with wins, rather than giving him actual contenders that are rank appropriately. If Paddy wins, look for him to randomly jump up to like #6 in the LW division despite fighting nobody that should reasonably be ranked in the top 10.
