Mexico Earthquake, 8.4: Tsunami Likely UPDATE 9/19: 7.0 hits Mexico City

Eh. I lived a year in Mexico City and the place itself was a mess but I enjoyed the people.

Right but if you're not from Mexico it's hard to tell as there's no point of reference.

Is there no country honor anymore? Besides these people need jobs, so turn a horrific event into something positive by finding work repairing after a disaster.

BTW- despite what many bigots might say I realize the majority of illegals aren't Mexican, let alone solely from Mexico City. I just think it's a good opportunity for some of the people here illegally to find work legally, in the country they're legal citizens in.
They have Jobs, is in the United States and it pays better....not only that but they have lives in the USA...Also I doubt there would be so many jobs in Mexico City to rebuild. It really wouldn't be worth it at all.

Country Honor? How many unemployed Americans are flocking to florida/Houston to rebuild? None.... Who in the hell said in the Florida/Houston threads "This is great for unemployed people to go to those cities, get jobs, and be patriotic!!", nobody did....I love the double standard lol.

Nah. That's not my country's capital. But I have donated directly to several gofundme's(as well as for Irma). I'm also- this is big- not an illegal alien.

Really? The Pentagon was hit, Washington DC was your capitol...Did you go rebuild it? inb4 you were a kid.

Anyways, you do know that if somebody indeed had family in Mexico City and they were affected by this, they would go send money just like you...right? In fact, it will make perfect sense for them to stay in the USA because you get way more money here.

That death toll will rise for sure. Probably heads trying to barely breath rubbish all over them right now.

I think Japan are the masters of withholding these massive quakes . Mexico City needs an infrastructure revamp.

Some of the posts in here... wtf? Mexico is hit with an earthquake and your first thought is "good, now the illegals can go back and clean up!" You got some issues, hombre. Maybe worry about fixing your own shit life if that's the first thing that comes to your mind.

What place in Zacatecas? My family is from there too.
the south closer to Jalisco and 6 hrs from Jerez which is north I'm not giving an exact location on these forums but we are three hours north from GDL airport.

Good to hear. Glad everything is ok with the family. Where were you when it hit?

Buena suerte.
Thanks bro...

I was in my office at Lomas de Chapultepec near to Paseo de la Reforma... I work in a small agency on a 2nd floor but fortunately nothing happen there... but we immediately felt and heard how strong it was because several things were breaking and cracking from other places. Really shocking !! And minutes later, from social media we start to receive the first clips and photos of what was happening in the city: Buildings falling apart, one after other, walls, lampposts, explosions, billboards, etc... I just saw a clips of people rescuing 3 kids from a school that collapsed big time. I could tell you that I almost drop some tears. (You need to know that there are 9 kids already dead from that place, 30 still trapped and 60 had been rescued and taken to hospitals).

Mexico city is a ancient city. It's modern buildings are some of the best. But its a massive city with old buildings. Also most of Mexico City is build on top what was a lake. Bad combo.

I earlier posted a video of 2 clowns taking video of the aftermath. They show a school that had a building next too it collapsed. I wonder if thats the same school?

My family is from tlaltenango...Is it close to it?

Those videos are shocking. The death toll shall rise, and it is a fucking shame.

God bless Mexico in this dark hour, and if any people can come together dig through the rubble to save their fellow citizens I know my Southern neighbors can.

Seeing the people come together to save their fellow citizens gives me hope.

Best of luck my hombres. Viva Mexico.

If you're ever taking a walk on the beach and saw the tide recede like that, run like hell towards high ground.
The trumptards would think it was jesus parting the seas so they can eacape the immigrants...

Death toll rises to 226 from Mexico earthquake

Mexico’s civil defense agency says the death toll has risen to 226 from Tuesday’s magnitude 7.1 earthquake that knocked down dozens of buildings in Mexico City and nearby states.

The official Twitter feed of agency head Luis Felipe Puente said early Wednesday that 117 people were confirmed dead in Mexico City, and 55 died in Morelos state, which is just south of the capital. It said 39 are dead in Puebla state, where the quake was centered.

Twelve people died in Mexico State, which surrounds the capital, and three in Guerrero state. The count does not include one death reported by officials in Oaxaca state.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude 7.1 quake was centered near the Puebla state town of Raboso, about 76 miles (123 kilometers) southeast of Mexico City.
