I was wondering how would the training of an average boxer in a good gym in Mexico differ to say an inner city gym In a big city in North America? I know they tend to have a much shorter amateur career and start in the pros earlier. Would this reflect in the way boxing is taught to them i.e encourage a less points based style from the get go? Finally do they put any different spins on conditioning and strength training/calisthenics as compared to outside Mexico?

^ heh.

Who's to say they have shorter ammy careers? Did you read that somewhere? They're able to turn pro at younger ages because it's legal in other countries.

They have shorter amatuer careers in general because the economy sucks and they'd rather make money for their families as young as they can.
