Both good songs but I just don't see either as close to Christmas Truce... then again Sabaton is my favorite band so it's hardly an impartial take.

I think it’s a time thing, Christmas truce is an amazing track but has only been part of Christmas for 4 years (maybe 5?). Pougues and the anti hero’s still top for sentimental reasons.

I always loved the Christmas truce story, such a powerful one. It’s a shame they were all reprimanded by the their so called “superiors”

I think it’s a time thing, Christmas truce is an amazing track but has only been part of Christmas for 4 years (maybe 5?). Pougues and the anti hero’s still top for sentimental reasons.

I always loved the Christmas truce story, such a powerful one. It’s a shame they were all reprimanded by the their so called “superiors”

There is so much to that story... going out and meeting the "evil" enemy they had been fighting and realising that most of them were just fresh faced kids, just like them.

Many were so fucked up by it afterwards that they had to be transferred away because they just couldn't try to kill the other kids they had just been sharing a drink and playing with.

Multiple other Christmas truces were attempted in the next few years but none stuck. The officers didn't want a repeat.
