They do for some, not others. And not to brag, but I have been in the exact situation, and I did exactly what that guy did. But my mind was already moving on the plan B, in case my car got suck, in which case I would kick the door into them, punch their face, grab their gun and shoot both them and their partners.

Disclaimer: there were three assailants in my experience. But they were Asian girls. I’m pretty sure I could take them out. Also, they were there to kill me, not steal my car.
