Merab won two rounds by stalling

Merab's parade of excuses is getting to be pretty pathetic.

I disagree.

He didn't win any rounds.
What shocked me is that I assumed Merab won round 3, which seemed like the closest? And I can absolutely see the 50-45 arguments, no question. But I did feel like Merab maybe edged out round 3, if any.

Yet all three judges gave him round 1, which is insane.

yeah I dont get it. fights are scored on damage merab mostly pressed. Again, I am a huge fan and supporter of merab. I respect him big time. I think 49-46 with round 3 going to merab is the absolute best you can do.

I concur. I like the new rules because they emphasize damage as the most important scoring criteria. And while Merab was landing a lot of punches, it was clear that Yan's punches had the bigger impact. Merab was wearing it.

Yeah, he lost 4:1 I think. I would give Merab maybe one round.
Which sucks because I was rooting for him. Yan irks me a bit. Great performance, though.

Did every judge gave him at least one round? He probably won zero rounds, the one that gave him 2 needs to be sent to take a judging course before judging another fight, or at least keep him away from any meaningful fight for the time being, that fight was NOT 48-47.

Merab claiming he tried to stand, make an exciting fight. Lol. You clown, we saw you try for like 50 take downs. Nice try. Hopefully Merab and his pitter patter style are gone and forgotten

It was 5-0 Yan, but Merab beat him 5-0 in the first one, and neither was getting finished in any of the 10 rounds. I don't think I have ever seen Yan finish anybody, but he hits harder than Merab. People are bending over backwards to justify not making the Merab rematch, which is a REALLY hard argument to make. There is no argument, as Merab has beaten the people Yan has not fought, the person Yan lost to, and the person who set up this second fight before Yan even asked. Its annoying and funny how much Merab deserves the imediate rematch which I think Dana implied he has it if he wants it.

Merab got beat up. Then he tried to play it off as falling short because he tried making it an entertaining stand up fight. It was entertaining but it did not stay on on feet because he chose to, he was forced to.

He took round 1 and 2 by basically holding Petr against the fence and doing donkey kicks to him.

The body shot in round 3 broke Merab and he was unable to continue with this strategy.

But even before that I would have said Yan was the one actually fighting vs who merabs point spamming.

Merab could have pulled out another push against the fence and taken it, would you have been pissed if the fight went to Merab like that?

Should the rules be updated to not reward this type of fighting?
Did you not watch the fight or something ?
