I mean it was a pretty steep slope with a bunch of bushes/trees and not a cliff, so it would have really sucked to roll down it, but it's not like he would have died or splattered on the ground, just would have been a bitch to climb back up and would have had to move sideways to find a place with something other than loose rocks to pull for that last step to flat ground.
