Merab's cardio is literally his only weapon. He doesn't have power, he can't hold guys down, no subs. You're correct, he's fucked. His standup isn't even good, he only uses it as a fake to get TD's more or less.

You're probably right. It would be smart for Umar to be patient and take the title shot when he's ready, with a full training camp.

It indeed looks like staph in “popped” boil form (nasty but seemingly fairly contained at least), however apparently following the UFC doctors check they said it’s not staph …?

In the past I had some slightly infected cuts/scrapes that were nothing but in a photo could have been mistaken for staph, so who knows. I doubt the doctors would outright lie, and staph isn’t difficult to diagnose.

I mean they'll find someone for O'Malley to fight. Umar could possibly step in (although as others have pointed out, Khabib might not let him fight short notice). Petr Yan might also be available. If neither of those two, they'll just keep going down the list to Sandhagen, Figueiredo, and Cejudo. More than likely one of those 5 will be willing to step in short notice and save the main event.

Genuine question, I have some familiarity with what MRSA is as a medical condition that is especially problematic and spreads in hospitals, and I also am familiar with the term "staph" as people use it in the MMA world.

So what is the relationship between the two concepts "staph" with how it is used in MMA/BJJ jargon and "MRSA" the medical term?

Yeah, his top grame isn't great. People get up from beneath him all the time. The problem is they go back down immediately. Still, I favor O'malley. The distance Merab will have to travel to continuously get in on the much longer o'malley will be too much and o'malley will find that chin eventually in my opinion.

I won't be mad if I'm wrong, though, because I'd like to see merab and umar go at it.

Umar vs Merab is a great fight but I think if Umar comes in with the right gameplan he should be able to keep the fight standing and cruise to a decision from his striking.

Have you guys not seen some of the shit makeup prop artists do? That little staph would be light work for them.

I've seen beginners on tik tok and shit do way harder stuff than what is on Merab's arm in no time at all.

I just want to see someone spam takedowns on umar for once and not give him the space that he loves for his kicks. I think that fight would be constant scrambles. Hopefully we get it some day.
