Merab couldn't finish a sandwich

All he does is try to push people like a midget sumo wrestler with Energizer Bunny cardio, he never threatens a finish he has Dillashaw Endurance cardio which makes him almost impossible to beat but he is gaming the system by pushing people the whole match with his retard cardio

I'm not say he's not great at what he does and is gaming the system better than anyone, but he's not marketable and the UFC want him to lose buddeh<28>
Then why put him in there with Yan, who hasn't finished anyone in even longer than Merab? lol

Merab has 16 UFC fights and 2 finishes in them, I just don't see a good way to spin that buddeh <28>
Breh, it's been like over half a decade since Yan finished anyone. He couldn't finish a woman that was seconds from climaxing.

I mean, I never even brought Yan up but I've seen him hurt mofo's in there plenty.

Merab is more of a pillow and blanket attacker.
He's a standup version of Merab. Sorry about yo damn luck

ham-sandwich

@BroRogan remember when we shared that ham sandwich a few weeks ago 🐈

yeah he's found a way to weaponize cardio. he can win fights by inflicting minimal to no damage by repeatedly taking you down and not going for subs or GNP

tbf though he's not the first guy to do this. Colby had no bjj and pillow fists... but he got to multiple title fights.
Just like:

Randy Couture
Mitsuhiro Ishida
GSP
John Fitch
Sean Sherk
Josh Koscheck
Klay Guida
Jake Shields
Gray Maynard
Chael Sonnen
Rashad Evans
Nik Lentz
Cole Konrad

This thread makes me think of the Wrassler. Is that guy still around?

well, i was pretty happy he submitted O'Malley. and even though he doesnt finish fights often, he is in some exciting wars.

however his style can lead to shit like the Aldo fight which is just plain dull. so i get why the UFC doesnt want him to stay champ

What is the point of making a thread about what the UFC wants? Who fucking cares, they aren't the consumer. Tell them what YOU the fan want by watching/not watching.

If you like watching the best fight the best tune in. If you don't then watch something else. But making a thread about his marketability is dumb IMO. I liked Metallica long before they were "Marketable". In fact most of their stuff after they became Main stream isn't interesting to me at all. After the Black Album I have no idea what their sales were but none of the music was interesting.

Meh. I understand it may not be the most thrilling thing to watch. But to me, mma is the sport of fighting so when an athletes uses their advantages to win the sporting competition, it’s fair game.

I disagree with the notion it’s some unbeatable, unfair approach though. Merab has been submitted. He’s been hurt numerous times.
He wasn't really submitted. That was some serious BS refeeing. At the end of the fight you don't have to defend yourself. You should be allowed to rest as long as you want. If the ref doesn't stop the fight then its over when the horn sounds. Should have went to decision.

Has anyone ever had the thought that maybe bantams are harder to finish and there aren't many finishes at high level anyway?
Food for thoughts
