I used to raise organic seed for a few years. The plant wasn't as hardy, it was more prone to disease and pestilence, it was more prone to getting knocked over in a storm, and you brought less in come Harvest time. No wonder "Organic" anything is more expensive.
Also organic grain has to be sprayed with bleach in order to hide insect damage. Organic grain also has higher instances of insect pathogens in the grain.
