oh hell yeah i wasn't correcting, merely appending. i used to play f-117 stealth fighter & chuck yeager's air combat on pc, and seeing those flaming telephone poles flying at you is legitimately ass-puckering.

Who did shoot down the B-52 bombers and what weapons did they use?

They had anti aircraft weapons from USSR and China.
Also North Vietnam had an Air Force. People think Vietnam was like Afghanistan with small engagements in the forests. That was true for most part but there were many open battles and campaigns like in open warfare. There were a lot of Russians in NV Air Force and soldiers on the ground doing the fighting and giving tactical support.
