I actually went to the Disney Imagineering offices in SoCal (near Burbank/Pasadena if I recall). I was demonstrating a software that took their project data and created all sorts of advances Project Controls metrics, curves, and reports. I thought using the Disney characters as the milestones for different work groups would really hit home in my demonstration reports to show the flexibility of the software. The reports looked Disney 100%. They freaked the hell out and threatened to take my laptop. No Joke. I politely thanked them for their time and I left with my team. We were followed out by one of the senior engineers. He apologized and told me too many of them take it too far and that he realized those images were only for their team. The whole advancement of their Project Controls / Project Management was set back because I decided having Goofy, Daffy, Mickey, and others as milestone symbols was cool. I refused to go back when invited a year later to try again. I didn't want them to have the software.
