I've always been mystified at the idea that hollywoods aren't supposed to have or express opinions

I'm more baffled that they're supposed to be experts on everything from income equality and immigration to climate change and morality while living in a bubble of privilege while traveling by private jet and living in walled mansions.

"Supposed to be experts"?
What the fuck does that mean?

Do you mean "supposedly experts"?

If so, is there any celebrity assertion that starts "I'm so and so celebrity, and I'm an expert in quantum field theory" or even claiming expertise on anything?

When you express an opinion on something, do you first declare yourself an expert?

No?

One of the news channels had Sean Penn on talking about the coronavirus and the US response. Do you think that segment would have been more productive with an actual health professional?

It's the same when they put them on the air to tout open borders - even though they live in walled mansions to keep everyone away. Or when they make their speeches about climate change and reducing your carbon footprint before stepping in their private jet; or #believeallwomen until one claims Biden sexually assaulted her.

The people are actors and homemade porn stars or simply famous for being famous - their opinions shouldn't necessarily be shaping the public discourse

It really seems to me that you resent famous people expressing their opinions as do the rest of us.

It seems to trigger the shit out of you.
