I watched a bit of it too it did seem unscripted and someone incoherent. Definitely didn't sound like the Obama who was surrounded by teleprompters.

Trump and Obama are opposites there. Trump sounds like a mess when he reads a statement but is a hell of a speaker in front of a crowd.

Obama is very good with or without a teleprompter. He ran for President and won twice, that is an awful lot of debates you can tune into if you forgot. He basically had a total of 1 bad debate in his entire political career.

Trump is basically good when nobody can tell him he's lying. So his rallies are great for his fans.

That's incredibly objective. Let me guess you're a leftist...

I actually think it's pretty obvious and basically universally agreed upon the Barack Obama is a better speaker than Donald Trump.

Is it not? Are there people out there who believe Donald Trump would not look like a child in a debate with Obama?

Trump is the most rambling and off-topic debater we've seen. He actually talked about his dick once at a debate.

He does well at rallies because it is his own fan base and they don't care what he says.

I think it's a matter of perspective. If I wanted someone to say, teach a class or deliver information in a calm, collected, and effective way, then Obama *hands down*. If I wanted someone to inspire the troops though, or speak in a way to garner an emotional reaction? While Trump is *far* from ideal in this way and I can think of a dozen better speakers in this regard off the top of my head, Obama isn't one of them. Barry has a cool, calm and collected speaking style which really isn't inspirational in the slightest as far as I saw.

I rarely left a Barry speech feeling any emotion even when it was obviously what he was going for. Trump... Well, I feel emotion at the end of some of his speeches, even if it's incredulity, disdain, or shock - but it's there.

I'd take Barry over all as a speaker though.

I prefer people who know what they are talking about.

Trump is style over substance, there is no depth and rarely any complete understanding behind his words. He says things that are untrue, exaggerated, or just plain outrageous to get an emotional response. It is easy to make people respond emotionally by telling them the sky is falling.

"Build that wall!" Sorry, no real wall. "Who's gonna pay for it? Mexico!" Well, no wall, and anything we do for borders is on our own tax dime. "Lock her up!" Sorry, not happening.

His emotional chants were fabrications.

When you hold yourself to any reasonable standard of integrity, it becomes more difficult to draw that emotion.

Meh, I didn't weigh in on who I liked better as a speaker at all. I just recognize that Trump has been *far* more able to elicit an emotional response than Barry whose speaking style never quite left the lecture hall in my opinion. That being said, yeah, I don't think Trump is a particularly good speaker and overall I'd say worse than Barry by a full point on a 10 point scale - but they really do have different strengths.

Don't give me that okey doke.

I extended criticism to both men and compliments as well. They are both fine speakers. Obama does better with a script, Trump is better when he wings it.

Calm down. Why are you so upset about someone saying trump is a better speaker than Obama? Seems sort of petty.

"Oh, let me guess, you must be a RIGHTEST"

Just giving my opinion, I was under the impression that would be okay with everyone. Which part seemed upset?
