He accomplished quite a bit. His pressure led to historic meetings between the North and South and we drafted a deal to denuke. Thats not nothing. True, we have to wait and see if Kim follows through, but if he doesn't, we will return to business as usual there. The fact that we say we will cease military drills NOW doesn't mean we won't be right back there if NK doesn't keep up their end.

I agree the follow through is what's important and that remains to be seen. Our drills are like fight camp except you never know when the fight is going to be. Even with a denuclearized peninsula they are still important for our readiness in that region. Up to this point it's China and NK that have benefitted most from this summit.

This immediately made me think of a quote from a letter from Karl Marx's own Mother:

"I wish Karl would spend more time accumulating capital, and less time just writing about it."

Mother knows best in this instance, Karl.

More of Marx's writings were dedicated to begging other people for money, more than any other subject he wrote about across the entirety of his life.

I also suspect that when Marx wrote about the exploitation of workers, he was projecting how he treated his own employees onto everyone else.

Karl Marx had an unpaid House Maid. This house maid had to balance the family finances for the Marx household because Karl proved to be utterly inept at balancing his own books. Worse yet, when this house maid became pregnant, Karl Marx kicked her out onto the street. Many correspondences between Karl Marx's friends stated that the child was most likely Karl's.

It's both amusing and ironic that so many on the left idolized and Lionized this man who was unable to even make his own way in life, and exploited the workforce that he did have in the worst ways possible.

I don't know how to turn that into a meme, but it is pretty damn funny, in a sad and pathetic kind of way.

We need to elect moderates. Trump made a mistake not taking a more moderate stance on some issues to get some Democratic support. He just wants to steamroll over everyone to adopt his policies. His strategy is just to push for a red wave in November so he has enough allies in government but then he shouldn't complain if it ends up a blue wave and they just impeach him. There are compromises that can be made, even if the extreme left and right cry and whine about having to give concessions, to strengthen our country. China and others are out there licking their chops seeing how Trump is dealing with our allies.
