I'm legitimately and honestly curious about this phenomenon.
Same reason why so many hyperdoctrinal religious types aren't funny imo.

Anyway, I remember my dad telling me a joke in the late seventies:
Q. How many feminists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A. THATS NOT FUNNY!

It's the same reason Jon Stewart hosting "The Daily Show" was comic genius, and Trevor Noah hosting "The Daily Show" has been a streaming pile of shit.

Jon Stewart would occasionally let everyone in the audience laugh. The Trevor Noah's and John Oliver's of the world are determined to brow-beat their ideology into their audience come Hell or high water. Any laugher they get is incidental and thanks to their team of writers.

It's hard to be funny for everyone when they openly despise half of their potential audience.

The leftist memes are an even more extreme example of this. They are less an attempt at being funny, and more of a twisted form of virtue signal of their personal hatred.

I won't even start with the obvious Freudian projection of all of the leftist memes insinuating their political opponents engage is some form of deviant sex. It's too obvious and we all understand it.
