You also were just wrong. Islamic society has contributed a lot in the last 1400 years, particularly in math and medicine and agriculture.

Islam is worthless. It's even more pathetic and repressive than Catholicism, which, to be fair, is quite an achievement in itself.

For those that don't know of the post that Rational Poster is scared to respond to, here it is.

Oh, my all means, point out where in the Quran where it says to invent algebra, coffee, and string instruments.

And since when are inventors a direct reflection of their faith?

In that case, shall we start comparing all major inventions of the last 2000 years and split them between Christian, Jewish, and Muslim?

So... Muslims have coffee, algebra, and libraries - stringed instruments are very debatable if they can take credit for it.

Everything else... the printing press, the alphabet, all scientific research, fossil fuel engine, space travel, electricity, democracy, the internet, all electronic advancement, every literary masterpiece, every top 1000 albums, and everything else you can name split between Christian and Jewish faiths.

And, where in the Old and New Testiments does it say to invent all if that? And if it doesn't, perhaps faith and inventions have nothing to do with eachother.

Perhaps another way the meme can be interpreted is the values and principles promoted upon the populations that adopted Islam. Good luck arguing Islam has been a net benefit toward the freedom and prosperity of those communities.

You're simultaneously not giving Muslims credit for their efforts, and declaring it impossible for their efforts to count because the books don't literally tell them to do these things. It has to be some other reason they invented those things to you.

Religion is a matter of spiritual inspiration just because it doesn't dogmatically tell you to invent things, which no text does to my knowledge, doesn't mean it didn't influence the lives of people who did invent things.

Also, lol, at your top books and art, etc. It's a different world and we don't care about their art or music. Just like they don't care about ours. It's pretty petty to judge someone else's taste in art as some sort of determining factor. Just because their music and art hasn't found main stream success in western countries doesn't mean it's bad. It just means it's not popular.

And really, this whole thing is a disingenuous dodge on your part. You said Islam, then you're all like, I didn't mean all Muslims, but but Islamists, when that's not what the meme even said. It just Islam period.

My only point is that to claim Islam as a whole contributed nothing to human society in 1400 years is false, by our own admittance, you even agree, but still feel the need to discredit them anyway. Just because they didn't do as much as the global hegemons doesn't mean nothing occurred.
