Why not France, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Monaco, Austria, etc?

They pretty much all have higher quality of life with higher life expectancy with better education and health care.
But are those pure socialist though? I thought they were still on the scale between full capitalist and full socialist. Of course when I think of socialism, first thing to mind for pure socialism is total government control of production.

Because you dork. When Americans talk about socialism they're talking about European socialism, not dictator socialism.

It's not really that hard to understand.

No one is trying to resurrect Mao here.. just maybe spend more on education and health care.

No need for the insult. When I reference socialism, I reference it as I was taught. That socialism is full government control of the means of production and distribution. I think what you are describing needs a different name to differentiate it from actual socialism.

I don't think we need to. I think you intentionally focus on the worst aspects of socialist history from 100 years ago while ignoring the modern day success stories because it suits you.

You also intentionally ignore how socialism made America what it is today as well.

Have not said any of that. I simply pointed out how I was taught. What you describe is not full and true socialism. It is a hybrid system.

That isn't true, and whoever taught you was wrong.

Socialism isn't full government control of anything. It's community control of everything. You've mixed socialist theory with the totalitarian regimes that exploited it, and then just disregarded the theory.

Socialism isn't total control either, though it can be, it is more often merely regulation backed by the community.

That sounds like vague wishy washyness though. Care to define what "community control" means? Because as nice as your theory sounds, it isn't what we got. Today, we do not have any pure socialist countries. The ones you mentioned are a hybrid. The "community" that is making the regulations is their Federal government. Not the local community. I don't consider people in Federal Government to be "community regulation". Community regulation is regulation at the community level. Not the federal level.
