That’s what I was thinking

There's some major red flags with this story, based purely off his description :

First, he must have had one or many priors. No one gets sentenced to a decade on their first offense for assault, even if it is of a child.

Second, he's obviously leaving out multiple details as to explain why he was arrested by the police, charged by the DA, it passed the grand jury, went all the way through a trial, was found guilty by 12 jurors, and the judge who knew everything about the evidence not presented in court.... Sentenced him to a decade in prison.

Not buying he's being 100 for a second.

And 'self-defense of another' is imbedded within self-defense law, and he mentioned he's in Florida.

I have experience with criminals and they have one thing in common... Practically without exception ... They all frame themselves as victims of circumstance.

Cops, DAs, judges.... They don't jizz themselves at the thought of sending good people to prison for long sentences.

So, what truth is there to his story?
No clue.
I can only tell there's an overwhelming probability he's lying... Probably about much of it or all of it.
