An important part of capitalism is loses, because loses tell companies what not to do. Considering that fact, it has never been assumed that growth would be infinite in capitalism, except by roofus doofuses.
Anyways, growth in capitalism is just a fiction created by accounting. If a group of corporations moves some minerals from the earth and forms them into a car that you can use for your benefit, we call that growth. In reality nothing really grew, only some atoms got moved around from one place to another.
That sort of reductionism is pointless in any discussion, because it doesn't mean anything, doesn't prove anything, and doesn't accomplish anything. You might as well say a baby never "grows" into an adult, because, after all "nothing really grew, only some atoms got moved around from one place to another."
Do you truly believe that every time someone uses the term "growth," they mean more matter is added to the universe? Because that's the only thing you're contesting with an argument like this.
Violence/Genocide: Do not condone violence or genocide on a person or group of people. You are free to attack a person or groups ideas but you are crossing the line when calling for violence. This will be heavily enforced in threads with breaking news involving victims.
