Because they went out to eat like 4 times a year, mended their clothes rather than buying new ones, didn't do drugs and only drank alcohol occassionally.

Basically they spent all their money on their mortgage.

My parents were the same way well into the 2000s. They just didn't spend money the way our generation does.

Not so sure about that part. I've seen the photos Of the parties my grandparents had. They may or may not have been swingers. Agreed on everything else.

There was a case in Rotherham where a father managed to track his 14 year old daughter to the house of the Pakistani man in his late 20's who had groomed her. The Pakistani chap phoned the police, who turned up and arrested the father for, "racist abuse".

The so-called police officers left the 14 year old girl with the Pakistani. In spite of the fact he had previous convictions for sexual assault. And one of the conditions of his early release from jail was that he was not allowed to have unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 18.
