I didn't say the robotics team shouldn't have done that or that no one should donate money if they wanted to. I'm saying it's not a basic health need (such as food, water and shelter) and the country isn't suddenly a dystopian nightmare if the kid doesn't have this expensive wheelchair.

2- My nephew has cerebral palsy, and I've watched him and other handicapped kids in special classes. Go see the parents of a child with spina bifida or another crippling disease, and tell them a great wheelchair isn't a basic need. "Your kid could have a better life and it might prevent some trauma, but we're caveman and basic needs are limited to food, water and shelter."
