I used to root for the Rainbow Warrior. I was a NorCal guy, and it also just pissed so many people off.

I grew up in NorCal (Roseville). My Dad lived in Campbell and raced (CanAm / Production) Laguna Seca, Sears Point, and was Crew Chief for Gordon Strom (Formula 1), who sadly crashed at Sears Point and died 6 months later in the hospital the whole time. He withered away.

I thought it was kids in the Hall skit or something. She/he looks like Bruce McCulloch's female characters.

Holy shit! Get out of my head! I said the same thing.
I saw that and it made my day. Please @Me if you find the rest. Could have been a Kids in the Hall sketch. She even looks like Bruce McCulloch.

To say that people here in the south hated Jeff Gordon back in the 90s would be an understatement.

Because he was a pretty boy yankee who dominated and people felt he didn't pay his dues. NASCAR is still regional but it was really moreso back then, basically every race besides the Daytona 500 was either on TBS or TNN.

Colfax and Auburn, and Grass Valley we're my stomping grounds. Grass valley and Auburn had some surprising fun racing. Good times.
